Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you and begin exploring what feels most important to you and what support may be most helpful.
-
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many people seek support when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply want a better understanding of themselves and their experiences. If something in your life feels difficult to navigate on your own, counselling can provide a supportive space to explore it.
If you’re unsure, a free consultation can be a good place to start. We can talk about what you’re looking for and whether counselling feels like the right next step for you.
-
Yes! You can book a complimentary 15-minute phone or video consultation so we can briefly discuss what you’re looking for, answer any questions, and determine whether we’re a good fit to work together.

Therapy Approach
-
I draw from a range of evidence-informed approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-focused therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and other therapies tailored to your needs.
Rather than using a single approach for everyone, we will work together to find what best supports your goals, experiences, and nervous system.
-
EMDR is a therapy approach that helps the brain process experiences that may feel unresolved or emotionally overwhelming. Many people find that difficult memories become less distressing, allowing them to move forward with greater ease and flexibility.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate and non-pathologising approach that helps us understand the different parts of ourselves.
Rather than seeing difficult thoughts or emotions as something to get rid of, IFS helps us become curious about them with greater understanding and compassion.
Through this process, many people develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and a deeper understanding of the patterns that shape their lives.
Fit & Specialties
-
Not at all. While EMDR is widely known for treating trauma, it can also be helpful for anxiety, low self-esteem, performance concerns, distressing life experiences, and patterns that continue to affect how you feel or respond today.
-
Yes. I provide individual counselling and neurofeedback services for children (ages 6+), youth, and adults. My approach is adapted to each person’s age, needs, strengths, and goals.

I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and attachment challenges, life transitions, stress, burnout, grief, and other emotional or psychological concerns. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and those navigating identity, dissociation, or complex trauma. Together, we’ll work toward greater understanding, healing, and meaningful change.
