Yvonne Hung

Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

Over the past 16 years, my career has evolved from education into counselling and community mental health, where I now support children, youth, and adults navigating trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Through both my clinical work and my own experience of therapy, I’ve come to understand that insight can be an important starting point, but lasting change often comes from processing experiences more deeply so they no longer hold the same weight or keep us feeling stuck.

The Perspective I Bring

I grew up in South Africa and have lived and worked in Hong Kong and Canada. Moving between cultures and communities has shaped how I understand identity, belonging, relationships, and the different ways people make sense of their experiences.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve provided counselling in educational settings, private practice, and community mental health.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting Indigenous communities, refugees, immigrants and newcomers, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, at-risk youth, professionals, retirees, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

These experiences continue to shape how I listen, understand, and meet each person with curiosity, respect, and compassion.

My Approach

You deserve a space where you can make sense of your experiences, better understand the patterns that have shaped your life, and move forward with greater clarity, choice, and self-compassion.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique experiences. Together, we can explore what feels most important to you while creating space for growth, healing, and meaningful change.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel safe enough to bring forward the parts of yourself, experiences, and questions that may have felt difficult to share elsewhere.
